Welcome! My name is Allison Shea (Ally for short) and I am so glad that you have taken an interest in my work. I am a student of many subjects, a student of travel and a student of others. I currently teach Kindergarten at the Denver Green School and am so passionate about teaching children at such a foundational level. I chose DGS because in addition to being a public school (I believe that every child should have access to an amazing education), we teach Education for Sustainability units that are written by the classroom teachers based on Common Core Standards and student interest, we have a huge garden for the students to utilize and a CSA farm that provides our cafeteria with organic produce.
The intention of this web page is to offer helpful tips to teachers who may want to integrate science, gardening, nature and ecology into their classrooms. Please feel free to comment about any or all of the topics that you care deeply about and share exciting things that you are doing in your own classroom!
